Tiffany Haddish Appearance at N.C. A&T Homecoming Comedy Show to be Rescheduled

Marlon Wayans N.C. A&T comedy showGreensboro, N.C. (Sept. 22, 2017) - Due to a conflicting production schedule, comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish’s appearance at North Carolina A&T State University's Aggie Homecoming Comedy Show "Fifty Shades of Funny,” on Oct. 3 will be rescheduled. Haddish is currently in production on her next film, which was delayed due to Hurricane Irma.

DeRay Davis, of VH1’s “Hip Hop Squares” will replace Haddish and join Marlon Wayans, Jay Pharaoh and host Burpie to round out the show.

Comedian turned actor, Davis, developed and honed his comedic skills at an early age, working his way through the comedy club circuit. He achieved a career breakthrough at the Laffapalooza Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. His routines surrounding race, poverty and his experiences growing up in the Chicago projects proved to be perfect material.

Many of Davis’ early film assignments dealt with the same, comfortable subject matter as his stand-up routines. From the 2002 release “Barbershop” and its 2004 sequel, “Barbershop 2: Back in Business,” to animated series “The Boondocks” and “Black Dynamite,” his reputation continues to grow.

Comedy show host, Jeremy Alsop, known as “Burpie,” began his comedic career in 2009. A 2012 finalist in the Miller Lite comedy search, he has shared the stage with the likes of Dave Chappelle, Capone, Damon Wayans and Hannibal Burress.

Tickets for the homecoming comedy show are still available for purchase at the A&T Ticket Office, located in Brown Hall, at the corner of Bluford and Laurel Streets.
