Daija Janay Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund

On Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, Kristen Rutledge's only child Daija Janay Carter suddenly passed away, leaving her with such a huge void in her life. In trying to determine how best to honor her memory, Rutledge decided to establish the Daija Janay Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund at North Carolina A&T State University. The scholarship will be used to assist a young female student from the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area who attends or will attend North Carolina A&T .
