Emma Wilson Endowed Scholarship Fund

Emma Wilson was born near Waycross, Georgia, on May 9, 1900. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. church in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she sang in the choir and was a soloist. She departed this life Sept. 16, 1962.

The Emma Wilson Endowed Scholarship Fund was established Aug. 26, 1997, by Mr. Michael Fleming. Miss Wilson assisted in raising Mr. Fleming along with his siblings. She was a good influence and made many contributions to his life during his formative years through her care, kindness, compassion and sterling characteristics. The purpose of the fund is to recruit undergraduate female students pursuing a degree in elementary education.

Scholarships from the Emma Wilson Endowed Scholarship Fund will be awarded to deserving female students as determined by the School of Education Scholarship Committee.
