J. Howard McMasters Endowed Scholarship Fund

Dr. J. Howard McMasters, a North Carolina native, graduated from North Carolina A&T in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. After teaching in Princeton, New Jersey, Regional Schools, he attended Howard University's College of Dentistry. After completing his studies in 1975, McMasters remained in Washington, D.C., for a year of residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

McMasters decided to come back to North Carolina and began practicing dentistry in Fayetteville. He worked at the Cumberland County Health Department for two years and in 1978 he established a private practice in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Continuously making evident his desire to return the knowledge and experiences gained while at A&T, McMasters devotes as much time as possible to mentoring students enrolled at N.C. A&T who are interested in biology and dentistry. He also volunteers dental services in the Caribbean with the International Development Organization.

McMasters is a member of New Missionary Baptist Church. The Old North State Dental Society, National Dental Society and Greensboro Medical Society are a few of the many organizations in which McMasters holds membership.
