Research Interests

My over-arching research focus is on the impact of structural inequities (i.e., racism, sexism, discrimination and stigma) on health and education outcomes among people of color. As co-director of the Collective Health and Education Equity Research (CHEER) collaborative, I am actively conducting research on structural inequities in health and education. Recent projects include examining masculinity, racism and health outcomes among Black males, and examining gendered racism, sexism and advancement of women of color in the academy. My work has been funded by the Minority Male Health Initiative and the National Science Foundation.
