University Farm hosts bamboo workshop

Farmers, landowners and others interested in learning how to grow bamboo for profit are encouraged to attend an upcoming demonstration at the University Farm of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

The free workshop with a bamboo field tour will be held 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the farm, 3136 McConnell Road in Greensboro.

The event is a collaboration between the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at N.C. A&T and commercial producer OnlyMoso USA. In addition to the tour, participants will get to meet with an OnlyMoso representative who will discuss land use, production practices and projected profitability. Growers who are already farming bamboo will speak.
