Technology Week, March 14-18

The School of Technology at North Carolina A&T State University presents its fourth Technology Week, March 14-18. The theme for the event is “Technology:  Bringing it All Together.” Over 1,200 undergraduate, graduate, high school and community college students, along with the university community and corporate partners are anticipated to participate during this week.

The purpose of Technology Week is to educate, inform, and display the field of technology and its place as a career choice. Technology is one of the fields that is in a job growth pattern and meets the strategic direction of the country by increasing jobs in STEM.

The seventh annual Extreme IT Day will take place during Technology Week on Wednesday, March 16. Extreme IT Day introduces high school and college students to enterprise computing technologies, including the mainframe and cloud technologies. Students will participate in various hands-on exercises and challenges to give a glimpse of what goes on in the computing world of mainframe and cloud applications. Corporate participants include: IBM, Red Hat, BB &T, Clear Blade, IT-ology, John Deere, Cisco, Dell, Fidelity and others.

  • Monday, 3/14, 6 pm - 8 pm, Opening and Welcome Reception.
  • Tuesday, 3/15, 9 am – 1 pm, Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, and Geomatics Day. Demonstrations and Tours.
  • Wednesday, 3/16, 9 am – 1 pm, Extreme IT (High School Students) and Electronics Technology/Information Technology Day.
  • Thursday, 3/17, 9 am - 1pm, Graphics Communication Systems Day. Demonstrations and Tours
  • Friday, 3/18, 9 am - 1 pm, Applied Engineering Technology, and Motorsports Day. Demonstrations and Tours.
  • Friday, 3/18, noon - 2 pm, Women in Technology Luncheon (High School and Community College Students).
