Dear Potential Student,

Welcome to the North Carolina A&T State University’s Department of Computer Systems Technology (CST).   We hope that you will look no further and make our department your home.

The CST Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology. Our innovative courses and curricula prepare students to think critically and provide the credentials needed to pursue various lucrative careers in the computing industry. The department’s teaching philosophy emphasizes extensive faculty-student interaction both inside as well as outside the classroom.

We utilize a collaborative approach to course design by working directly with industry leaders to identify the leading edge technologies that our students will need to master in order to succeed in the workforce. So, if you are interested in network security, the Internet of Things, computer networking, embedded systems, mainframe computing systems, mobile application development, system administration, etc. then this is the department for you. You will learn about computer systems that will prepare you for the future jobs in the computing industry!

Beyond the classroom you will be actively engaged in laboratory experiences. You will take courses in science, mathematics, business, circuit analysis, project management, computer programming, and many more. Upon graduation, our students are prepared to manage projects and/or people in the corporate sector, work for state, local, or federal government agencies or contractors, hospitals, nonprofit organizations, etc. Companies that hire our graduates include: IBM, John Deere, Cisco Systems, BB&T, General Motors, USAA, Bank of America, First Citizens Bank, Dell, just to name a few.
