This Week in COVID: Jan. 9 - 14, 2022

January 14, 2022

Aggies,

We hope your Spring Semester is off to a great start. As the omicron variant surge continues to play out in the COVID pandemic, we are adapting our communications to better suit evolving campus needs. Expect weekly messages to help keep you up to date on new or emerging information intended to help you stay well, protect our community and maintain a safe educational and research environment:

  • The AggiesCare website has been updated with significant new information. An Isolation and Quarantine Guidelines page incorporates new standards regarding time in isolation and requirements for leaving isolation, while new documents for Continuity in Teaching and Learning and Research Issues fold in information specific to those areas for the Spring 2022 Semester. The Isolation and Quarantine Guidelines are also available as an infographic. Look to AggiesCare throughout the term as a resource for all your COVID informational needs at North Carolina A&T.
  • KN95 masks are available in buildings throughout campus, free of cost for students and employees. Building representatives are maintaining supplies in each residence hall, administrative, classroom and recreational building, as well as in the Student Center. North Carolina A&T has worked to ensure that our university has sufficient supplies of these high-grade masks that research shows are best at preventing spread of the omicron variant. See your building representative for supplies.
  • Our campus positivity rate has declined, despite the fact that we are testing large numbers. Please continue to self-monitor daily and get tested if you are experiencing symptoms. The university's COVID-19 Dashboard is updated daily. We must remain vigilant over the coming weeks to continue pushing these numbers downward. With your help, we will get past the current surge and to a less contagious environment.

The A&T Student Health Center continues to provide coronavirus testing for students, employees at the Alumni Foundation Event Center, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
