Activities and recreation

North Carolina A&T's many student organizations make campus and incredible place to be. They provide both social opportunities and great preparation for the world beyond A&T. Recreation activities through our Student Health Center and elsewhere are on campus are essential to keeping minds and bodies strong, and A&T's intercollegiate athletic teams are second to none. The following protocols are designed to help ensure these valuable activities will operate in a fun and safe way.

Clubs and organizations

Students organizations and clubs will continue to function and make major contributions to the vitality and excitement of N.C. A&T during this period. Their activities and in-person meetings, however, will be conducted in concert with current State of North Carolina restrictions on the size of gatherings. As this guidance was being created in July 2020, with the state still in Phase 2 of its recovery plan, those restrictions were as follows: Gatherings of more than 10 people in a single indoor space remain prohibited; in outdoor spaces, gatherings of more than 25 people are prohibited. Those restrictions may change as the school year approaches and throughout the 2020-21 academic term.

Whatever the circumstances, clubs and organizations will be encouraged to continue to provide students opportunities to come together around ideas, ideals and shared interests. That coming together may take on new and creative means, such as virtual meetings, in-person gatherings marked by social distancing and other efforts to build community and friendship while protecting each other's health and the health of our campus.
