Welcome to Student Services

The College provides a variety of services that support student academic pursuits as well as their professional and social development. Majors in the various departments have access to a department chair and faculty who all post at least 10 office hours weekly when they are available for unscheduled visits. Appointments can also be scheduled at mutually convenient times. Learn more about the wide variety of student services:

ACADEMIC ADVISING
Each department has a Freshman Advisor who works closely with first year students, ensuring that they are enrolled in the right courses and that they receive the academic support that they need. All other students are assigned an academic advisor from within their academic department. Lists of academic advisors are posted in the departments. Students may also find information on their academic advisors by Web for Students from the University's Web site.

TUTORING PROGRAMS
A variety of tutoring programs are available in the College and on the campus, primarily in the College of Arts and Sciences. Apart from regular postings on the many bulletin boards in Merrick Hall and Craig Hall, students who need assistance in Math, Communications, Accounting, and Statistics may get information from their academic advisors or their departmental offices.

WORKSHOPS
A variety of technical and professional development workshops is available to students each semester, covering topics and themes such as Business Etiquette, job Exploration, Dressing for Success, and Dining Etiquette. Students are encouraged, and sometimes required, to attend and participate in these workshops.

UNIVERSITY CLUSTER GUEST SPEAKERS
Through the University Cluster,  a group of businesses that support the University and its programs, each fall semester business employees share the classrooms with faculty, offering students the opportunity to interact with members of the business community. During the spring the Cluster offers a leadership conference in which all students may participate.
