MAcc Application Criteria

To apply for admission to the MAcc program in the College of Business and Economics, an applicant must hold a baccalaureate degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.  Students without an accounting undergraduate degree will require the following 18 hours of accounting and finance prerequisite courses or their equivalent from a four-year accredited institution:  ACCT 331 (Intermediate Accounting I); ACCT 332 (Intermediate Accounting II); ACCT 344 (Cost Accounting); ACCT 443 (Income Tax Accounting); ACCT 461 (Auditing Principles); FIN 343 (Principles of Finance.  In addition, applicants must submit:

  • A completed and signed Graduate College Application for admission.
  • A $60.00 non-refundable fee.
  • Official college transcripts from all higher education institutions.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • A letter of intent.
  • A current resume.
  • The GMAT or GRE score will be considered.  However, if the applicant has an undergraduate GPA of 3.30 or higher and an accounting GPA of 3.00 or higher, the GMAT or GRE examination is waived.
  • TOEFL score, IELTS scores or other proof of English language proficiency (required of all international applicants).
  • Students claiming in-state residence must submit the residence form.
