Master's Programs

The counseling program currently offers three tracks: Mental Health Counseling - Clinical, Mental Health Counseling - Rehabilitation, and School Counseling. Each counseling track has a unique curriculum complete with multiple field experiences designed to best prepare students for work with their intended population. The program also offers a double major where students can elect to complete the degree requirements for two counseling tracks.

Most importantly, all master's counseling programs are fully accredited and aligned with the Licensed Professional Counselor requirements for the state of North Carolina. The School counseling program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and aligned with the competencies set forth by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Programs (CACREP). The Rehabilitation Counseling program is accredited with the standards set forth by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Programs (CACREP). These accreditations indicate program alignment with national training standards for professional counselors in each of their respective areas.
