Message from the Executive Director

Welcome! We are glad you have decided to experience Housing & Residence Life in Aggie Land. We hope this experience will be memorable and rewarding during your stay. Campus living is a unique and valuable experience that will serve as a special part of your education.

Our talented staff members and student leaders are committed to serving you and working with you to create an atmosphere conducive to academic, intellectual, social and emotional growth within your community.

Our residents living on campus will have the opportunity to:

  • Establish a home away from home
  • Establish meaningful connections through academic and social networks
  • Become more aware of and appreciate diversity on campus and how it applies to the global community
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Understand the importance of community responsibility

Additionally, we expect our residents to uphold ideals for living on campus such as integrity, mutual respect, inquiry, citizenship, and connection. We believe that these ideals make up the foundation for creating a successful residential and campus community. These ideals allow residents to maintain honor and respect towards each other while strengthening their interpersonal relationships with others. Get to know your roommates, suitemates, neighbors and hall staff.

Whether you are a new or returning student, the Housing professional staff along with the Resident Assistants (RAs), Peer Mentors (PMs), Residence Hall Association (RHA) and the Hall Council will assist you in meeting new people and becoming involved within your community.

Please attend your floor/hall meetings; at the meetings, you will learn about policies and procedures within the University. Also, we encourage you to attend the programs during Welcome Week which will allow you to become familiar with the campus and other students.

If you have any questions or immediate concerns, please see your hall staff. Once again, welcome to Aggie Land!
