Biography

Travella Free serves as an Extension associate and coordinator of the Discover Agriculture Program at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Farm.  In this position, she is responsible for the development and delivery of science-based programs for kindergarten-through-12th-grade students. Prior to joining the Extension program at N.C. A&T State University, Free was a 4-H agent for the University of Kentucky and North Carolina Cooperative Extension programs.      

Free’s honors and awards include the T.C. Blalock 4-H Agent of Year, first place in the Youth Development category at the joint conference of the Association of Extension Administrators and Association of Research Developers for 1890 Land-Grant Universities, and being named a Jackson Scholar for Education.
