Gamma Sigma Delta, the Honor Society of Agriculture

Gamma Sigma Delta is an international honor society, with the purpose of promoting and recognizing achievements of students, faculty members, alumni, or industry and university supporters who excel. The Society seeks to encourage high standards of scholarship and worthy achievements in all branches of agriculture.

Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS)

MANRRS is a national society that welcomes membership of people of all racial and ethnic group participation in agricultural and related sciences careers. MANRRS members are encouraged to be full participants in other professional societies for their basic disciplinary and career interests. MANRRS supports professional development of minorities, through conferences, career fairs, workshops and networking opportunities.

SAES Alumni Society

The mission of the SAES Alumni Society shall be to encourage and promote involvement of SAES Alumni, and other supporters, by providing opportunities for participation in the life of the University. The Society communicates to alumni, other supporters and the general public about the achievements taking place in the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.

North Carolina A&T Collegiate FFA

Animal Sciences and Pre-Vet Club

The purpose of the Animal Sciences and Pre-Vet Club is to expose students to different careers in animal sciences, and offer various experiences in the field of veterinary medicine. The Pre-Vet/Animal Science Club allows students to network with professionals and learn about internships related to their field of study.

Men on the Move

Men on the Move is the Department of Animal Sciences’ professional development organization specifically for young men, providing peer and male faculty mentoring to ensure they graduate and achieve their professional goals. With its themes of “Respect, Responsibility, Civility, Chivalry, and Integrity,” Men on the Move is effective in helping young men develop clear collegiate goals, complete their academic program, refine their interpersonal and oratorical skills, expand their critical thinking and become involved in on-campus and off-campus leadership.

Food and Nutritional Sciences Club

The Food and Nutritional Sciences Club is a tool for the Food and Nutritional Sciences students (Dietetics, Food Science, Pre-Med) within the Department of Family & Consumer Sciences to get involved in the different aspects of their respective disciplines. The objective of the club is to provide opportunities and guidance for its members to reach their leadership, educational, and professional goals. The club hopes to engage students with food related activities, industry tours, health fairs, community services, professional mentoring, seminars and presentations, and other special events.

Family and Consumer Sciences Club

This pre-professional student organization promotes student involvement in the profession throughout the university and the community. The FCS Club offers students opportunities for leadership, friendship and career exploration. The club sponsors university activities, community projects, and guest speakers at club meetings, and serves as an exciting springboard for professional involvement.

This national honor society is open to all students and professionals who qualify. The mission of KON is to empower leaders through scholarship, research and leadership activities. This organization prepares scholars and researchers for the 21st century.

Fashion X-Cetera

This community service organization exposes fashion merchandising and design majors to fashion experiences outside the classroom. Leadership skills are promoted by organizing and implementing community service activities that have a fashion and/or merchandising emphasis.  Students are exposed to career options in the fashion industry through field trips, guest speakers at meetings, and mentoring opportunities provided by graduates. Events organized by the members are designed to allow for practical application of skills learned in class, and also to increase awareness of fashion merchandising and design.

Alpha Epsilon: Honor Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering

The purpose of this organization is to promote the high ideals of the engineering profession to give recognition to those agricultural and biological engineers, who manifest worthy qualities of character, scholarship and profession attainment, and to encourage and support such improvement in the agriculture and biological engineering profession that make it an instrument of greater service to mankind.

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE)

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) is an educational and scientific organization dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to agricultural, food, and biological systems. Founded in 1907 and headquartered in St Joseph, Michigan, ASAE comprises 9,000 members in more than 100 countries.

Sigma Lambda Alpha:  Honor Society of Landscape Architecture

The mission of Sigma Lambda Alpha is to encourage, recognize and reward academic excellence in preparation for the profession of landscape architecture.  Leadership and sound character are emphasized.  Preserving the valuable traditions and customs consonant with the wise husbandry of the land is sought, and a spirit of amiability is fostered among those of marked ability in this discipline.
