Procedures and Information for Admissions

Admission Criteria

Students enrolling in courses and programs are required to submit the Continuing Education Registration Form.  NC A&T State University Continuing Education requires students hold a high school diploma or equivalent certification. Students are not matriculated NCAT students, and not all University student privileges apply to Continuing Education students. The University reserves the right, at its discretion, to withhold entrance to special events, etc.

Tuition is indicated with each course description and varies.  Tuition may be paid by credit card, check, cash, cashier's check or money order. If your check is returned for any reason, we will charge a $20 service fee.

Financial aid does not cover Continuing Education courses.  Full payment of tuition and fees are due at the time of registration.

Waitlist Policy

If an NCAT Continuing Education course is full and you would like to be placed on the waitlist, please click on "Join Wait List" next to the course description and complete and submit the wait list form. If space becomes available in the course, you will be contacted via email.

Students may not attend (or audit) Continuing Education courses without an enrollment confirmation.  If a course reaches its enrollment limit, priority enrollment will be offered to students on the course waitlist.  Continuing Education will email students on the waitlist in chronological order if space becomes available. Wait-listed students should check their email every day until the course begins.

Please note: Instructors do not make admissions decisions. Please do not contact instructors directly about course admission. Continuing Education adheres to a strict wait list policy and will contact students in the order in which their requests were received.

Refund Policy

Written Request Required. Refund requests must be made in writing to Office of Continuing Education no later than five business days prior to the beginning of the course. The requester must complete the Request for Taxpayer Identification and Number (W9 Form). An administrative fee of 25% of total registration fees will be deducted. A minimum administrative fee is $25. Refund requests received after the deadline will not be honored. A substitute may attend the program in your place. If you do not attend the program and do not submit a refund request as stated above, the University will retain all fees.

Class Cancellation due to Severe Weather

In the case of severe weather, Continuing Education will monitor conditions throughout the day. Snow, ice and other natural emergencies in the Piedmont Triad can have an effect on class schedules and the workday at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

When Chancellor Harold L. Martin, Sr. makes a decision about a cancellation, delay or early dismissal, the Office of University Relations promptly disseminates an announcement to internal media devices and the external news media. Efforts are made to ensure that an announcement is broadcast between 6 - 6:15 a.m. N.C. A&T will open as usual if an announcement is not made by 6:30 a.m.

If the decision is made to cancel classes during the day, the Continuing Education staff will contact you by email and or telephone.  The University will post an announcement on our website:
