International Student Admissions

  • International students must meet all criteria for unconditional acceptance into a degree program of study at  North Carolina A&T State University and provide documented proof of ability to meet financial responsibility associated with enrollment and living expenses.

Undergraduate Admissions

The Graduate School

The Financial Guarantee Form must be completed and signed by both the sponsor and the prospective student. Return pages 3 and 4 of the form along with all required bank certified documents or documentation confirming sponsorship, University funding, or any combination of support in the minimum amount of $27,500 (USD) for Undergraduates and $30,100 (USD) for Graduates.

Complete, sign and return the International Student Data Form.

Provide a photocopy of the identification page(s) in your passport or official document showing the correct name combination you will be using inside the United States and at the University.

If you are currently in F-1 or J-1 status inside the United States, provide the documents confirming your current legal status to include the Certificate of Eligibility (I-20/DS-2019), the I-94 (front and back), a valid passport and U.S. visa stamp pages, etc. You must complete the SEVIS transfer process. The Transfer Clearance Form will be provided to you once you (1) have been admitted to the University and (2) submit all required documents.

If you hold an immigrant status or a non-immigrant status different from F-1 or J-1, you are required to confirm your legal status by providing a copy of the legal document(s) before you enroll. 

If it appears that you cannot complete the requirements for admission and enrollment by the semester for which you have applied, you may wish to consider deferring your enrollment eligibility to the next full semester. Please contact the appropriate admissions office for details regarding deferment requests.

Special Note: Form issuance, visa application, and entry to the United States, as well as reporting to the school after arrival now requires electronic registration in the Student Exchange Visitor Information System maintained by USCIS. Therefore students must enter the U.S. before the last day of class registration of the enrollment semester. Students entering or attempting to enter the U.S. on an I-20 /DS-2019 issued for a begin date in conjunction with approved academic semesters AFTER the last date for approved registration WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE OUT OF STATUS AND MAY BE required to apply for reinstatement and/or face immediate deportation.

The University reserves the right to recommend that international applicants request to defer enrollment to the next full semester if an I-20/DS-2019 cannot be issued for the existing acceptance date.
