CARES ACT REPORTING HEERF II CRRSAA

NC A&T received an allocation of $53.3 million from the U.S. Fiscal Year 2021 appropriations that include a COVID-19 supplemental relief measure. Congress set aside approximately $81.88 billion for the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA).

This HEERF II funding was allocated to higher education institutions based on a formula that includes the number of Pell-eligible students The funds may be used to provide financial aid and emergency funds to students as well as to defray institutional expenses associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

NC A&T will allocate $7.05 million of HEERF II funding to student aid, the same amount as was allocated to student aid under the CARES Act (HEERF I). This funding will be distributed to qualified undergraduate and graduate students, include distance education students. NC A&T expects to award the majority of these funds in March of 2021. In addition, the University $46.2 Million will be utilized to defray expenses associated with the Coronavirus (including lost revenue, reimbursement for expenses already incurred, technology costs associated with transition to online education, faculty and staff trainings, and payroll). Financial aid grants for students may be used for any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or child care.
