3rd NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENTAL
SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

September 12 -14, 2007 · Greensboro, North Carolina

PROCEEDINGS PAPER: INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Each person scheduled to make a platform or a poster presentation at the Symposium is strongly encouraged to submit a short paper (maximum 6 pages) for publication in the Proceedings. A hard-cover of the Proceedings will be mailed shortly after the Conference to each full-program registrant. The Proceedings also will be offered for sale by the publisher, Battelle Press. Each paper is to be prepared according to these instructions and the attached Example Layout and Reference List Style Sheet. Two camera-ready copies, along with the attached Contributor's Agreement and (if applicable) the Permission to Reprint/Quote forms, are to be submitted no later than August 31, 2007, to Dr. Godfrey A. Uzochukwu (Uzo), Waste Management Institute, North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC 27411. If you have any questions about your submission, call Dr. Uzo at 336-334-7030 (fax: 336-334-7399; e-mail: uzo@ncat.edu).

REQUIREMENTS FOR PUBLICATION
The Proceedings will serve as a permanent record of the material to be presented at the Conference. To ensure maximum currency of the information and make it available soon after the Conference, it will be necessary to adhere to a tight production schedule. We ask that authors submit papers in camera-ready form, and we have set the latest possible deadline that will allow us to review several hundred submissions, compile accepted papers, prepare indices, and complete the printing process soon after the Conference. Submissions must (1) arrive in camera-ready form by August 31, 2007; (2) be four to six pages in length; (3) pass the peer review (see "Content" paragraph below); and (4) satisfy the format specifications. Any submission that does not meet these requirements is subject to rejection.

CONTENT
Your submission for the Proceedings should provide the most current information available about your work at the time of submission. The Example Layout employs main section headings that will be applicable to most papers. In your closing section, discuss how results obtained to date can be used in other applications. You may also wish to describe unresolved questions or additional investigative directions, but concentrate on how your results can be put to use. Please avoid a commercial or promotional slant. Although time will not permit the intensive peer review and revision process we would like to undertake, each submission will be read by a volume editor, and poorly written papers will have to be rejected. Spell-check the text and have your work reviewed by a colleague for technical content, grammar, and style before you submit it.
