Research: Health disparities in chronic disease conditions, applying the transtheoretical model of behavior change to disordered eating, lipid oxidation in shelf-stable foods, and interventions for reducing obesity in African American women

Outreach and Associations: Community nutrition and physical activity programs for healthy lifestyles. Member of the American Dietetics Association, Society for International Nutrition Research, The American Public Health Association, American Society for Nutrition Sciences, and the American Society for Clinical Nutrition. She is also a Registered Dietitian.

Teaching: Food and Nutrition for Healthy Living, Intermediate Nutrition, Cultural Foods, Experimental Foods
