Welcome to the premier edition of the Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math and Science website.
These are exciting times for both of our TRIO programs here at North Carolina A&T State University. Our flagship Upward Bound Program was established in 1966 and is celebrating 41 years of service to this community. Currently we serve 124 students at James B. Dudley and Ben L. Smith High Schools in Greensboro and T. Wingate Andrews High School in High Point. We look forward to continuing our long and rich heritage here at A&T.
We have embarked upon a bold new era with the inception of our newly funded Upward Bound Math and Science Program. We serve 50 students from Rockingham County. They attend Dalton McMichael High School in Mayodan and Reidsville High School in Reidsville. They are our future astronauts, doctors, physicists, statisticians, educators and other math and science professionals. We welcome them to the Upward Bound and Aggie families.
Our purpose is to prepare our students for postsecondary enrollment and assist them in striving for excellence in their studies. We therefore encourage them to live by our motto: If better is possible, then good is not enough.
