NC A&T SU migrated from Blackboard 6.3 to Blackboard 7.3 after the Fall 2007 semester. Blackboard 7.3 has some new features that will increase the functionality of the system for faculty and students.

- With Blackboard 7.3, will the website for accessing
Blackboard at NC A&T SU change?
Yes. The new website for Blackboard at NC A&T SU will be http://blackboard.ncat.edu. You are encouraged to save this new website to your favorites.
- What are the login procedures for Blackboard 7.3?
Visit http://blackboard.ncat.edu. Login using your NC A&T SU email credentials. You will use your email username and your email password to access the new Blackboard website. You will not use your Banner ID and 6-digit PIN.
- What should I do if I do not have an NC A&T email account?
An NC A&T email account is required to access Blackboard. If you do not have an NC A&T email account, please visit www.ncat.edu/~cit/registration/acct_req.html or contact the Aggie Help Desk (334-7195). You will need your Banner ID and PIN.
- When will I be able to access my Spring 2008 course shells?
The Spring 2008 course shells are currenlty available at http://blackboard.ncat.edu. The course shells will not be available on the old Blackboard website (http://ncat.blackboard.com).
- Can I use materials from previous semesters to build my Spring 2008
courses?
Yes. If you would like to use course materials from previous semesters to build your Spring 2008 courses, you will be responsible for exporting the course materials from the Blackboard 6.3 environment (http://ncat.blackboard.com) into the Blackboard 7.3 environment (http://blackboard.ncat.edu). For information on the export/import process, visit www.ncat.edu/~training/blackboard - click the “Saving Courses” link on the left side.
- Will faculty training for Blackboard 7.3 be available?
Blackboard 7.3 workshop dates can be found at www.ncat.edu/~training/blackboard. Training will also be provided to each School/College upon request.
- How can I register for a Blackboard workshop?
To register for a Blackboard workshop, please visit www.ncat.edu/training or contact Tracie Lewis at tolewis@ncat.edu/256-0355.
- Who should I contact if there is a problem with Blackboard?
If there is a Blackboard-related problem, faculty and students should contact Tracie Lewis (tolewis@ncat.edu/256-0355) or Bessie Nkonge (bessien@ncat.edu/256-2538). If there is a technical issue with your computer, please contact the Aggie Help Desk (334-7195).
- Who should I contact if there are courses
missing from my Spring 2008 course list?
You should check with your department first to make sure you have been added in Banner as the instructor of the course. If you have been added in Banner, please wait at least 2 hours for the system to update.
- What if I am listed as a secondary instructor in a course and I do
not have access to the course in Blackboard?
If you are listed as the secondary instructor of a course and you do not have access to the course in Blackboard, please have your department contact either Tracie Lewis (tolewis@ncat.edu/256-0355) or Bessie Nkonge (bessien@ncat.edu/256-2538).
- Who should I contact if I need to have Teaching Assistants (TAs)
added to my course(s)?
If you need to have Teaching Assistants (TAs) added to your course(s) in Blackboard, please contact either Tracie Lewis (tolewis@ncat.edu) or Bessie Nkonge (bessien@ncat.edu) via email. Your email should include the TAs name, username, and complete course ID. All requests must be made via email.
- Should I save a copy of my courses in the Blackboard 6.3
environment?
It is recommended that you export/archive a copy of all of your courses and store the files as backups. As a precaution, special files that include multimedia should be saved in their original format. For information on copying, exporting, or archiving, please visit www.ncat.edu/~training/blackboard. Click the “Saving Courses” link on the left side.
- What role does UNC-G play in the migration to Blackboard
7.3?
UNC-G will provide the physical environment for NC A&T’s Blackboard servers. NC A&T Blackboard personnel will continue to provide all service to the faculty and students at NC A&T SU.
