HBGI Program Activities
Producing Ph.D.s in Engineering
The Title III HBGI activity in the College of Engineering is designed to increase
the number of native Black Americans earning a Ph.D. degree in engineering
through a program of financial assistance. Fellowships, scholarships,
and services to students are awarded to ensure academic success and successful
completion of the Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering,
industrial and systems engineering, and mechanical engineering.

Project Administration
This activity is responsible for the monitoring, evaluating, and fulfilling
all reporting requirements of the activities and to ensure compliance with
Federal, State, and University policies and procedures as required by the U.
S. Department of Education.
