Statement of Purpose

In the fall of 2000, The Center for Student Success launched a Retention Alert Program designed to target "at risk" students with gpa's of 1.8 and below.   The program's aim is to help "at risk" students determine educational goals, overcome academic difficulties, stay in college and make timely academic progress toward graduation.

Program Goal and Objective
(This Goal and Objective reflects Goal II in the University Long Range Retention Plan)

bullet GOAL:     To increase the retention of new, undecided students each year
                  by 2% beginning Fall 2001.
bullet Objective:  Develop and implement a plan to increase the retention of new,
                   undecided students each year by 2% beginning Fall 2001.
