BASIC READING (FRST 098)

    Basic Reading (FRST 098) is a course designed to strengthen the reading skills of students by providing instruction in the reading and study skills required for success in college.  This is a two (2) credit hour course that meets three days a week (MWF).  The students are placed in the course on the basis of their performance on the Multiple Assessment Programs and Services (MAPS).

    Major emphasis is placed on vocabulary development, reading comprehension skills, and retention.  Individualized student remediation takes place in the Reading Skills Laboratory.
