The
primary mission of the Student Support Services Program at
North Carolina A&T State University is to address the unique
needs of academically capable individuals who are
economically challenged, do not have a family history of
college attendance and completion, have a physical or
learning disability, and possess the aptitude to advance
academically, personally, and professionally by offering
them high-quality programming and services while maintaining
a strong commitment to their success in post-secondary
education.
Vision Statement
T he
Student Support Services program is dedicated to providing
high quality programs and services to its target audience
and is committed to providing resources to aid its
participants at all stages of their post-secondary
education, careers, and social environments. We achieve this
vision by:

Providing SSSP participants with an opportunity to
succeed within the post-secondary education system.

Providing tools and skills to move SSSP participants to
economic independence, academic success, and social
advancement.

Providing support to help the SSSP participants graduate
from the University in a timely manner and transition
into a professional career while becoming a viably,
productive citizen.

Enhancing internal and external communication and
collaboration between program staff and among the
University community.

Adopting innovative models for staff development and
training.

Marketing and promoting SSSP programs and services
throughout the University and beyond the campus borders.

Creating a system that is reproducible at almost any
level.
