NC A&T School of Ag Earns Awards at National
Symposium

Greensboro, NC: Faculty members and students with the North
Carolina A&T State University School of Agriculture brought home four
awards from the Eleventh Biennial Research Symposium, held in San Antonio.
Winning awards in the poster section of the symposium were:
- First Place in the Scientist Plant and Soil Science section, Drs.
Kanglin Li and M. R. Reddy, with "In-Situ Measurement of
Nitrate Leaching by Tensiometers and Nitrate Electrode."
- Second Place in the Scientist Animal Science section, Dr. M. Ray
McKinnie, Glover Ford and Christopher M. Couch, with
"Use of Prostaglandin F-2 Alpha in the Induction of Parturition in
Pasture Bred Sows and Gilts."
- Second Place in the Scientist Plant and Soil Science section, Drs.
Godfrey Gayle, Charles Raczkowski, M. R. Reyes and G.
B. Reddy, with "Results from Tillage Research at North Carolina
A&T State University: Runoff Volume and Soil Loss."
- Second Place in the Student Animal Science section, Wesley Linton
and Sherrie Wheeler, students of Dr. Willie Willis, with
"The Growth Response of Broilers to Feeding Regimens During an Extended
Growth Period."
The Biennial Research Symposium is hosted by the Association of Research
Directors, Inc., and is attended by agricultural scientists from the nation's
16 historically black land-grant universities and Tuskegee Institute.
