" Implications of STEM Discipline Research for
Instructional Innovation and Assessment in
Economic Education" |
This project explores the adaptability of innovative STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) discipline teaching pedagogies and assessment techniques into economics. More broadly, the project seeks to promote cross-disciplinary conversations about effective teaching and learning and the development of communities of practice exploring effective teaching and assessment practices across disciplines. The three-year project (DUE #04-11037) started in fall, 2004.

"Just-in-TimeTeaching (JiTT) Pedagogy in the
Principles of Economics Course" |
JiTTEcon focuses on
adapting "just-in-time teaching" (JiTT) techniques developed in
physics education for the principles of economics course. The initial project
(DUE
#00-88303) was conducted during 2001-2004 and includes an extensive JiTTEcon web site with examples, research results, and information
about JiTT pedagogy.
