"Developing
and Implementing Just-in-Time Teaching (JiTT)
Pedagogy in the Principles of Economics Course" |
JiTT
- Just in Time Teaching - combines the use of out-of-class
web-based exercises with active-learning pedagogy. Between
classes, students complete carefully constructed exercises and
submit them electronically a few hours before class.
Instructors review students’ JiTT responses and use
the responses to organize and modify the upcoming classroom
session – hence the “just-in-time” label. We've developed
the resources on this site to help you find out more about
JiTT and how you can implement JiTT techniques in your own
classes.
The
National Science Foundation has supported our development of
JiTT techniques in economics (DUE
#00-88303)
in addition to JiTT pedagogy in other disciplines (www.jitt.org).
