Dear Friends,

Everyday, you and I have the opportunity to make a difference because we are public servants working to make North Carolina the best place to live, work and raise a family. We are driven to strengthen North Carolina communities and improve the lives of the people we serve. Our spirit of giving and caring binds us and makes us truly remarkable.

This year, the State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC) provides us with another opportunity to live out our spirit. By choosing to give to one of the 900 plus nonprofits supported by the campaign, we can ensure seniors have care when they need it most and treatment for diseases are found, we can ensure access to programs that nurture our children, we can make sure our environment is preserved, animals are treated fairly and that our communities are a showcase for the arts.

The State Employees Combined Campaign has a long history of offering State Employees a choice to invest in the charities that mean most to them. By giving we choose to meet needs and produce positive change in our communities, our state and our nation.

As Chair of the 2009 SECC Campaign, I ask you to dust off your remarkable spirit and let it shine again. Join me and make a choice that really matters –give to the State Employees Combined Campaign. Together, we can make a difference.
