Personal and Academic Support

Freshmen and upperclassmen are guaranteed single rooms in program housing. Upper class Teaching Fellows and/or honor students room together with freshmen fellows in quads. The students are housed in the same building and in most cases the same floors. This arrangement allows upperclassmen and freshmen to develop authentic relationships as role models, mentors, tutors and lifelong friends. Professional mentors have included the Dean of the School of Education, faculty, business persons, university and school system administrators.

Six weeks into each semester the program sends Academic Monitoring forms to all faculty instructing fellows. Instructors will provide current grades, possible concerns and recommendations. By midterm grades each student will meet with the director and discuss their academic progress, service, internship and transition.
