The grant-funded project: Kim Gilyard, a N.C. Principal Fellow and graduate assistant in the School of Education, partnered with Brooks personnel and used grant funds to purchase teaching materials from the Love and Logic Foundation.
The school, in collaboration with A&T personnel, then promoted strategies, resources and activities for teachers and students to use to foster social and behavioral success, collected tracking data and used it to analyze the program’s impact.
The expected results: In addition to decreased office discipline referrals and increased classroom instruction time, this effort will provide useful data on the effectiveness of certain strategies for improving teacher and student interactions at the school. | |
