Sincere thanks to everyone who participated! Hope to see you again Fall 2009! Need community service hours? Calling on all organizations for future teachers, and individuals interested in community service! Please join the NC Teaching Fellows and other A&T students in the commitment to foster the love of reading. Volunteer to participate with your Future Teachers of America, or other school organizations. If your group would like to participate in this community service project, we encourage group sponsors to register.
Make plans to go to the elementary school and have lunch with your student sometime during the week in which you will go to Borders with your student. This is a good time to find out all about your student. As a future teacher, this would be a great time to help cultivate the love of learning. During lunch talk about your favorite books, and why you like them. Talk about why it is important to be an avid and lifelong reader. Be prepared to make a difference in the lives of several third and forth graders from your local community.
