» Curriculum & Instruction
Curriculum and Instruction provides the professional studies component for the preparation of effective teachers and school personnel at the bachelor's degree and master's degree levels. The department cooperates with the various academic departments of the University for teacher education preparation. In addition, the department offers graduate programs in the areas of elementary education, special education, reading education and instructional technology. |

» Human Development & Services
The Department of Human Development and Services are to prepare individuals for professional roles in Adult Education, Counseling and School Administration. Departmental studies include philosophical, theoretical, and methodological foundations for adult educational and counseling practices; practical examination of human development and learning through the life span, supervised experience in practice settings and leadership preparation for schools and other educational organizations in a diverse and technological society. |

» Human Performance & Leisure Studies
The Department of Human Performance and Leisure Studies features both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The undergraduate program in Sports Science has three options (Business Administration, Leisure Studies and Pre-Physical Therapy). In addition, the graduate program offers both Master of Science in Physical Education (M.S.) and Master of Arts in Teaching Physical Education (M.A.T.). These programs are designed to prepare candidates for careers in clinical, corporate, commercial and/or community physical fitness, leisure/recreation and education settings. |

The Department of Leadership Studies is an interdisciplinary academic unit that seeks to foster excellence, integrity, creativity, learning, engagement and responsiveness to the challenges that face the local, regional and global constituents of North Carolina A&T State University. The mission of the Department of Leadership Studies is to make significant contributions to the growth and development of current and aspiring scholars and practitioners; to service learning and research communities on and off campus; to the development and implementation of innovative practice; and leadership with the purpose of solving complex challenges facing the multiplicity of individuals, industry and society. The Department of Leadership Studies is uniquely positioned to create synergies among academic and administrative units across the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.

» Teacher Education Council (TEC) North Carolina A&T State University
The Teacher Education Council (TEC) is the governance body for all professional education licensure programs on the campus of NC A&T State University. The Council is charged with ensuring the quality of professional education programs through development and implementation of policies that are aligned with state and national standards and regulations. TEC membership is annually appointed by the Chancellor of the University with representation from the School of Education, the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Economics, the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, the School of Technology, and the Graduate School. Each of these academic units house degree programs that lead to professional education licensure.
