Curriculum & Instruction

The Teacher Education Programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). The Teacher Education Program was accredited initially in 1976 by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. This national accreditation was reaffirmed in 2002 and 2007.

Human Development & Services

The Counselor Education (school counseling) program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). Program offerings in the area of Counselor Education (school counseling) are designed in compliance with the competencies set forth by the Department of Public Instruction. The Counselor Education (school counseling) program and the Human Resources Community/Agency Counseling program are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The current curriculum in the Human Resources Rehabilitation Counseling program is aligned and accredited with the standards set forth by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). The Adult Education program is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It also follows professional standards devised by the Commission of Professors of Adult Education.
