Entrepreneurial Development Program
The TI has made a major impact on the number of qualified highway contractors through one of our technology transfer activities and partnerships, the Entrepreneurial Development Program (EDP).
The EDP is a collaborative effort between the NCA&TSU, the Bennington Corporation, NCDOT and FHWA, designed to increase the number of successful minority and female highway contractors.
The program offers two 1-week workshops that teach the participants how to prepare bids and estimates that are competitive in obtaining prime contracts from the North Carolina Department of Transportation and how to operate and manage their businesses effectively and efficiently.
Sessions are taught by our faculty on financing, payroll accounting, cash flow and budget, communication skills, and management styles. |
