Dr. Joyce E. Brown serves as Director of Special Programs - Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program.
Prior to assuming this position she served as a Senior Program Evaluator for Associates for Institutional Development-Title III Programs and as a Reader for the Department of Education, Title IV-Trio Programs. She has also served as Special Assistant to the Academic Dean, Spelman College; Assistant Director, Office of Educational Opportunity (TRIO) Georgia State University; and Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Morris Brown College. She has vast experiences in reading, writing, implementing, and evaluating Title IV-TRIO and Title III federal programs.
Dr. Brown received a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Knoxville College, Knoxville, Tennessee and a M.Ed. in Counseling and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership in Higher Education with a cognate in Management from Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia. She has conducted extensive research, published, and made paper presentations on student persistence in higher education for the purpose of retention management and program enhancement.
Since 1995, Dr. Brown has been an active member of the American Association of Higher Education (AAHE) and the AAHE Black Caucus. She has served diligently on the Program Committee for the Black Caucus and now serves as Secretary to the Caucus Executive Board. She is also a member of the Council on Educational Opportunity, Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Personnel, North Carolina Council on Educational Opportunity, and the American Association of College Student Personnel.

Mrs. Geraldine M. Burnett has served as Counselor for the Ronald E. McNair Program since January 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Psychology from Bennett College and a Master of Science degree in Adult Education from North Carolina A&T State University. Mrs. Burnett has an extensive background in counseling, coordinating and program planning.
Prior to assuming her responsibilities with the McNair Program she was counselor for the School of Nursing, counselor/coordinator for the Student Support Services Program at Bennett College, job developer/counselor for the Employment Security Commission, and held coordinator/instructor positions at Guilford Technical Community College
Professionally, Mrs. Burnett holds membership in the Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Personnel, North Carolina Council of Educational Opportunity Programs, Girl Scouts Tarheel Triad Council, Inc., and National/State PTA.

Since 1995, Marie H. Chapman has served as the Program Assistant for the Ronald E McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. Prior to coming to North Carolina A&T State University, Mrs. Chapman served as a Typesetter, Proofreader, and Quality Controller for Harmon Publishing Company in Greensboro, NC and as Administrative Assistant to the Pastor of the United Institutional Baptist Church also in Greensboro. Mrs. Chapman received an Associates Degree in Desktop Publishing from Guilford Technical Community College. She also studied Business Management at Greensboro College, and Business Law and Secretarial Science at North Carolina A&T. Mrs. Chapman is very active in the State Employee Association of North Carolina and the North Carolina A&T University Staff Senate. She also serves as a Yokesfellows Volunteer Counselor at the McLeansville Correctional Facility, an Institutional Member of (Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel) SAEOPP and a member of the Triad Health Project (Aids Foundation). !
