Objectives: The objectives of the Department of Psychology are consistent with the
objectives of the College of Arts and
Sciences. In general, the Department of Psychology serves the University by offering the undergraduate major in
psychology, and by providing services courses for other departments. In addition, the
Department prepares students for
graduate
study in psychology and associated fields, and provides students with skills related
to employment at the baccalaureate level. Degree offered: B.A. in Psychology Department Requirements: Psychology major: The major in psychology must complete 124 semester hours of University courses. Included in the 124 semester hours are 25 hours of University Studies requirements, 35 required non-psychology courses, 47 hours of psychology courses, and 17 hours of free electives. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA out of high school in order to major in psychology, or a 2.5 in order to transfer into psychology from another university or major. You must make at least a "C" in ALL of your psychology classes. You must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 in order to graduate. Note: A minor is not recognized as such on your transcript,
