Rest in peace Chad.
"I'll play ball in Heaven, Lord
With my halo on my head
I'll run around the playing field
or use my wings instead.
I'll pick the players on my team
and when we win the game
I'll make the Heaven's Hall of Fame
Everyone will know my name"

Comments: Chad was a great young man. In my short time at A&T I had the great pleasure of getting to know him -- not just as an athlete, but as a person. He was a TEAM player. He loved his teammates and always tried to do what he could to help them. He loved AGGIE FOOTBALL and the University. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. GOD has a plan for all of our lives and he has a plan for Chad! My prayers will always be with his family, his football family, and the University of North Carolina A&T.
RIP Chad

Comments: It was like yesterday, sitting in management concepts listening to all of Dr. Stewart's stories and lectures. Chad always kept me laughing; he was the one who kept class interesting. I'm going to miss you, Chad, as a person, friend, and classmate. RIP Chad Wiley #73

Comments: This is crazy. I keep asking myself if it really happened. Why him??? Why now??? .... I pray that through this we all realize that our moment could come at any minute. I pray that we realize it is a must to trust God in every circumstance. It is time-out for the hatred and jealousy. Life is too short to concentrate on that stuff. Lets just love each other. You never know when it will be your last time seeing someone.
Chad you will be missed. You were a great friend and brother. I will always remember our time spent together. It is hard to think that you are gone. It seems as though yesterday I was introducing myself to you. However, I know you are with the Lord. One day we will meet again and continue the great friendship we had here on this earth. Shine down on us and watch over us. Thinking about it, you are probably already doing that.
Before I go, Lord, I just want to say THANK YOU for putting an awesome person like Chad in my life and in all the lives of people he touched. We will miss him, but I know you will take good care of him.
Chad, we LOVE YA and we MISS YA!!!

Comments: To Mr. & Mrs. Verdell Smith & Family,
I met Chad about two years ago and I must say he was a very good person, nice, and always well mannered. I only knew him a little while as he visited some friends of mine in the residence hall. I have you all in my prayers and hope that God blesses your family always and through this time of need.

Comments: Chad! We grew so much since our freshman year! We went from distanced teammates to close roommates. Your character spoke to the multitudes. Your outreach was beyond that of a normal person. I know now that life really isn't promised. You have left remarkable examples for others to follow and learn from. Your time here will not go in vain. Your passing will not either. I love you. Rest now for the race -- your race -- is over. Smile down upon our team and community, which I know you are. I love you and send my prayers to your family and to the rest of OUR friends. Thanks for the lifetime of memories!
Tolson, Alishia

Comments: I am SO saddened to learn of this tragedy. A&T students fill my life with such joy - the potential is endless. I pray for kindness, comfort, peace and love to Chad's family and his A&T comrades during this extraordinarily difficult time.

Comments: Chad had so much love in his heart. I am so glad I got to receive it firsthand. Chad always told me to never say goodbye, only see you later. Well, Chad, this is goodbye. You will forever be missed. Life will never be the same, but just know how many lives you touched while you were here. I Love You.
Xanthia, Cunningham
Comments: This is such a tragic loss. I've never spoken to him but I used to see him around campus before I graduated. It's a terrible feeling to know that someone you have crossed paths with only a short time ago will never cross your path again. My prayers go out to family and friends. God Bless. RIP Chad Wiley #73.

Comments: Chad was a wonderful, sweet-spirted young man. He will be missed. I will always remember the last time I saw him with Tim Bess and the big hug I received from both of them. The loss of a loved one is always difficult but the loss of a child is rough. God wanted him more and set him free. I would like to share the same poem with the family I used after losing a child. It's called "I'am Free!"
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all, I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found the peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah, yes these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I 've savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me. God wanted me now. He set me free.
May God Bless his family, and Rest in Peace, Chad.

Comments: I would first like to give my condolences & prayers to Mr. and Mrs. Verdell Smith and family. I was blessed to have such a respectful, intelligent, humble and sincere person like Chad enter into my life. He was always there for me no matter what, and no matter how busy we were, we always managed to start back where we left off. He was my big brother and best friend that brought a smile to my face with his warm smile. He was a great brother, friend, athlete, and student to all of us. Chad, I love you and I know that you knew that, your character has impacted my life forever, and you will never be forgotten. Watch over us and shine us with that wonderful smile. R.I.P
