NEA Annual Meeting Call for Papers
The National Economic Association (NEA) will hold its annual meeting in Washington, DC, January 3-5, 2003 in conjunction with the meetings of the Allied Social Science Association. We are making a call for individuals that are interested in giving papers, organizing sessions or making suggestions for the program. We ask that you submit abstracts for papers or proposals for complete panels in all areas that advance the study and understanding of the economic challenges confronting the black community, but we are especially interested in abstracts on the following:
The 1990s economic expansion
Welfare reform Lessons learned from t he World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance held in Durban, South Africa
K-12 Education Reform
Strategies for increasing the number of minority Ph.Ds in economics
An abstract for each paper must be submitted, identifying paper title, authors’ and discussants’ names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and fax numbers. Abstracts must also include the new Journal of Economic Literature bibliographic codes.
If you are interested in organizing a joint panel with the American Economic Association (AEA), please submit your material by January 28, 2002 since the AEA must receive such proposals by February 1, 2002. Material for all other NEA sessions should be submitted by March 1, 2002 to:
