Materials Science DR. FILATOVS' research interests center on Materials Science, particularly physical property aspects, relating microstructure and mechanical properties. He has worked with ceramics (Weibull statistics), metal composites, and polymeric composites. He has also investigated organic polymers for applications as transistors and batteries. The following research is currently being carried out: - Development of copper matrix/graphite fiber heat conduction composites for NASA Lewis. - Exploration on fabrication and properties of fiberglass/graphite/epoxy composites for NSWC. - Investigation, by analysis and simulation of random and stochastic effects on composite microstructures for NASA Langley. |
