Undergraduate Programs

The Mathematics Department at NC A&T offers three undergraduate programs:
  • Mathematics
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Mathematics, Secondary Education,
all three granting Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees.

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics

The Mathematics major must complete a minimum of 124 semester hours of University courses. These include 52 hours in mathematics courses.

Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics

The Applied Mathematics major must complete a minimum of 124 semester hours of University courses, including 49 hours in mathematics and 20 hours in physics and engineering courses.

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Secondary Education

The Mathematics Education major must complete a minimum of 124 semester hours of University courses. These include 43 hours in mathematics, and 29 hours in education and/or psychology. Also, majors must earn a "C" or better grade in each mathematics course taken to fulfill the 43-hour mathematics requirement. All Teacher Education admission, retention and graduation standards apply.
