The Electronic Media and Journalism Concentration provides an exciting curriculum for the student who is interested in writing and producing scripts for corporations, television and film studios, advertising agencies, government offices, online media, and public and commercial radio and television stations. Students get a comprehensive study of the fundamentals, historical development, media law, ethics, practices and procedures of various industries, and journalism. While our Television Production Concentration emphasizes the technical aspect of audio video production, the Electronic Media and Journalism Concentration focuses on writing, producing, and on air delivery. Practical experience in all of these areas ensures the student is preparing for a new era of convergence in the media industry. Students will be prepared to work as producers, writers, media researchers, anchors, announcers, reporters, account executives (sales), and web producers in various industries around the world. Students can complement their degree by selecting electives in business, foreign languages, technology, agriculture, political science, sociology and English.
