Re-entry to the United States

A student in valid J-1 status needs the following documents to reenter the U.S. after a temporary trip outside the U.S.:

A valid passport
A valid visa (U.S.)
A valid Form DS-2019 endorsed by an ISSO Advisor or Program Sponsor (if NCA&TSU did not issue the DS-2019)
