| The Monitoring Council
for International Students and Scholars Affairs (McISSA) functions
to assure that the University maintains compliance with federal
regulations, rules and guidelines in recruiting, admitting, matriculating,
graduating and employing non-immigrants at North Carolina A&T
State University. The Council serves as an information resource
across divisions, departments and offices. It is charged with
implementing, changing and developing policies to support the
University’s eligibility to continue admitting non-immigrant
students and scholars and petitioning for the employment of foreign
nationals.
Since September 11, 2001 changes in immigration laws and procedures
have forced SEVIS approved institutions to develop an internal
communication method that is interdisciplinary in both perception
and action. University business practices must match the SEVIS
capability to “share” information in making decisions
and taking action. McISSA is strategically capable to accomplish
this requirement as its appointments reflect and cover every
aspect of the University.
The McISSA is coordinated by the International Students and
Scholars Office on behalf of the Division of Student Affairs.
