General Engineering Courses

GEEN 100 Introduction To Engineering 2(2-0)

This course gives an overview of the engineering profession.  The topics include: career opportunities, professional ethics and registration, public and personal safety, the engineering method, written and oral communication, units and dimensions, representing technical information aspects of engineering design, use of microcomputers for word processing, plotting and spreadsheets.

GEEN 102 Computer Programming For Engineering 2(1-2)
This is an introductory course in computer programming.  Problem solving techniques and writing algorithms will be stressed.  Students will be taught to write programs for such tasks as engineering decision-making and numerical computation.  May replace INEN101.
GEEN 103 Computers in Engineering 2(0-4)
Students will use engineering and mathematical computer applications and languages to solve engineering problems.  Students will solve numerical problems and learn to use the computer for engineering design.  May replace INEN102.
GEEN 500 Senior Seminar 1(0-2)
The course includes the review of material included in the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.  Class same as INEN 500.  Prerequisite:  Senior Standing.
