Mr. Vandezande  worked in industry for 33 years before joining the NC A&T Faculty. 

His industrial experience included semiconductor engineering for RCA and application's programming, quality control engineering, and reliability engineering for IBM.

Mr. Vandezande joined the Industrial Engineering faculty in 1986 under the IBM faculty loan program In 1987.

He retired from IBM and continued as an Adjunct Associate Professor. 

During the 1992-1993 academic year he taught in the Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Mauritius under a Fulbright Scholarship grant.
