Dr. Silvanus J. Udoka  joined the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University in 1992 after serving in a similar capacity in the University of Wisconsin for three years. 

He is jointly appointed in the Department of Business Administration at A&T. He had previously held the position of Distribution Manager at SUNMARK, Inc., Carrolton, TX. 

Dr. Udoka is the recipient of the 1992 Outstanding Young Faculty Award from the North Midwest Section of ASEE and was voted 1991/92 Outstanding IE Faculty by the IIE Student Chapter. 

He is a member of several professional and honorary organizations including Tau Beta Pi, Alpha Pi Mu, IIE (Senior Chapter President (1991/91)), SME (Chairman, 1995; Vice Chairman, Mission #1 - Professional Development, 1996), ASEE, and the Order of the Engineer. 

Dr. Udoka is active in research and publication mainly in the areas of manufacturing systems analysis and design and automated data capture systems design. 

He is actively involved in efforts to enhance interdisciplinary manufacturing engineering and is the Director of Robotics and Automation Laboratory, as well as the Co-Director of the Automatic Identification Laboratory.
