SENIOR DESIGN PROJECTS:

Near the end of their tenure, students in the Bachelor’s program in Industrial and Systems Engineering are required to complete a “capstone” engineering design course.

This requirement is met by having students address problems faced by local industrial and community organizations.

Under the guidance of departmental faculty, students work in teams on a project for an area company.

Each student team proposes a project plan, designs and analyzes alternatives, and presents recommendations with justification to the client organization.

Clients pay a modest fee to the Department to support project cost for travel, communication, computing, reports, and administration.

Clients benefit from student motivation, fresh perspectives, and technical skills.  Both large and small companies can benefit!
